NDIS

MOVE Exercise Physiology provides NDIS-funded exercise physiology services for individuals accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Support is individualised and goal driven, using movement as a therapeutic tool to build capacity, promote independence and support meaningful participation in everyday life. Services are flexible and delivered in environments that are meaningful and accessible to each participant, with supports available for self-managed and plan-managed participants and tailored to individual goals, capacity and context.

  • Exercise physiology uses movement to support physical, psychological and social wellbeing. Under the NDIS, support focuses on capacity building and improving function, confidence and participation in daily life.

    Support includes:

    • Improving strength, balance and mobility to support daily activities

    • Building independence with routines and functional tasks

    • Education to support safe movement, body awareness and self-management

    • Supporting confidence, motivation and engagement with movement

    • Developing sustainable routines that support long-term wellbeing

    • Managing pain, fatigue and physical limitations

    • Supporting emotional wellbeing through structured activity

    • Encouraging participation in community and meaningful activities

Programs are adapted over time to reflect changes in goals, capacity and circumstances.

  • Exercise physiology services support NDIS participants with a broad range of disability types recognised under the NDIS, including but not limited to:

    • Intellectual disability

    • Physical disability

    • Neurological disability

    • Psychosocial disability

    • Sensory disability

Support is individualised and goal driven, recognising that needs vary widely both within and across disability types.

If you are unsure whether exercise physiology is appropriate for your plan, this can be discussed as part of the referral process.

  • Services are delivered by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist provided in home, community, workplace and leisure centre-based settings.

Funding is provided under Capacity Building supports, including Improved Daily Living.
MOVE Exercise Physiology works with self-managed and plan-managed participants.

Services include ongoing communication and collaboration with the participant’s multidisciplinary team, including families, support workers, support coordinators and relevant health professionals, to support continuity of care, shared goal alignment and appropriate reporting.
