Services are delivered by an Accredited Exercise Physiologist experienced in working within Department of Veterans’ Affairs referral pathways.
Service delivery is flexible and tailored to individual needs and preferences, including home-based, community-based, gym or leisure centre sessions, hydrotherapy or telehealth. Sessions are primarily delivered on an individual basis, with group-based exercise prescription available where appropriate.
Services are accessed following GP referral and DVA approval, in line with current DVA guidelines. Ongoing communication with GPs and relevant health professionals supports coordinated care and appropriate reporting.
Please note that while exercise physiology services are covered under DVA arrangements, gym memberships, casual gym entry fees and pool entry costs are not covered by DVA and remain the responsibility of the individual.
